Storyblok adds new regions to the app: Australia and Canada
Storyblok is the first headless CMS that works for developers & marketers alike.
Good news to clients in Australia and Canada: we are thrilled to announce that these two regions have been added to our app.
The region determines where the server that stores your data is physically situated. Now, in addition to Europe and the United States, you can store your space data in Australia and Canada.

Data residency and compliance: From a GDPR perspective, certain businesses or public entities must ensure their data is located within their own country. Some companies, for example, must store their data in the United States or the European Union to comply with these regulations.
By providing multiple AWS regions, we allow customers to select a region that meets their specific compliance requirements, assisting them in adhering to local and global data protection laws.
Latency and performance: The physical distance between the data center and the end users can impact Storyblok latency and performance. We provide multiple AWS regions so customers can choose the one with the lowest latency, ensuring optimal performance for their users accordingly.
This is especially important for low-latency applications like real-time collaboration tools or video streaming services.

Storyblok clients within any plan can choose these two regions to store their data.

The region can be selected when creating a new space within your account. Currently, there is no possibility to move data from one AWS storage to another.
