Marcus Wilhelm is Chief Information Officer at EF Education First, a role he's held since June 2022 after previously serving as CIO and CTO of EF Kids and Teens and CIO of EF China (where he led the shift from offline to online classes during the pandemic).
As CIO, he oversees the technology strategy behind EF's global digital operations, including the company's move to Storyblok to replace a slow, custom-built CMS that was holding back a business managing over 640 schools across 100+ countries. That transformation now powers 9,000+ pages across 54+ language variations, with the full site of 486,000+ pages able to be generated and published to QA in under an hour — cutting development time for a new multilingual site from 4-6 months down to roughly 8 weeks.
Marcus's broader career has centered on digital transformation and retiring legacy systems at scale, a focus that runs directly through EF's Storyblok rollout.
