Lumenalta's Website Migration
Lumenalta migrated its legacy CMS to Storyblok to overcome architectural limits, high costs, and inefficient content workflows that hindered both editors and developers. The existing platform capped content types, required frequent developer support for routine updates, and delivered overly complex API structures that inflated templating logic and slowed delivery. The technical goal was to adopt a modular, headless CMS that empowered non-technical users while simplifying development and reducing long-term maintenance overhead. After exploring alternatives, Storyblok’s visual editor, component-based architecture, intuitive SDK, and guided tooling proved the best fit for scalability, cost efficiency, and usability. Implementation centered on breaking down the new website design into components and page types, then creating corresponding Next.js react components and Storyblok content blocks. Within a month the migration was complete, resulting in a clean API, drag-and-drop content blocks, live preview, and fast page creation without code. Post-migration, publishing that once took a week now takes minutes and editor autonomy has significantly increased.
