Improved Asset Permissions for Custom Roles

We've made Asset permissions in custom roles more flexible and precise, giving teams finer control over how assets and asset folders can be managed across their Spaces.

What's new

Spaces with the Additional Access Control feature now have more control over Asset permissions:

  • Subfolder permission inheritance — choose whether permissions apply to all subfolders automatically, without needing to add each new subfolder manually.
  • Granular Asset and Asset folder permissions — restrict specific actions, including:
    • Deny uploading assets
    • Deny editing assets
    • Deny deleting assets
    • Deny moving assets
    • Deny creating asset folders
    • Deny editing asset folders
    • Deny moving asset folders
    • Deny deleting asset folders

This update introduces no breaking changes to existing custom roles or permission setups.

A new selectedFile property has been added to the story content. It stores the URL and asset metadata — including width, height, and fileSize — of the selected asset variation chosen via a new dropdown.
