How does the integration work?

The integration functions as a field plugin, which allows you to customize input fields and integrate Storyblok with third-party services. This enables developers to fulfill requirements specific to their use cases beyond the standard set of field types installed by default in every space. In this case, the Salesforce Commerce Cloud plugin is an extension of the Visual Editor, allowing users to add commerce features provided by our tech partner.

After installing the integration and entering a space, you can see the added plugin and interact with Salesforce Commerce Cloud features from the Visual Editor’s level. After clicking on the integration field, users can access the connected product database and start interacting with it according to their project’s purpose.

The basic features of the integration include:

  • Choosing the product overview layout based on the ‘Products’ and ‘Categories’ sections
  • An overview of the products’ descriptions, categories, and images
  • Searching and filtering for products and categories in the ‘Search’ navigation bar
  • Filtering the products based on preferred criteria
  • Managing the product or category selection and adding chosen products to the commerce page

How to connect Salesforce Commerce Cloud with Storyblok?

Deploying the integration can be done in 5 easy steps:

  • Installing the Plugin from the App Directory
  • Adding the installed plugin to a Space
  • Setting up the API Client in Salesforce
  • Finding out the missing option values from the user's Business Manager account
  • Finalizing the plugin setup within the Visual Editor
