Storyblok is the first headless CMS that works for developers & marketers alike.

As your business expands, it will inevitably accumulate more and more assets, meaning that, eventually, organizing all your assets becomes much more difficult, and the search performance of your assets will not be as good as you'd expect.

We at Storyblok care about these problems and are continuously trying to create more flexibility for our users to manage all their content. That's why we are introducing a new feature: Translatable Assets Metadata.

Section titled What is translatable assets metadata and why you might need one

Translatable asset metadata allows users to add additional relevant details to each asset, which can be useful for organizing and categorizing assets. Companies can significantly enhance asset management and classification with the help of supplementary metadata.

Storyblok offers a solid standard number of metadata fields that include Alternative text (Alt), Title/Caption, and Copywrite. However, with increasingly growing content requirements, you may need to add customized metadata for efficient content management.

Adding translatable asset metadata gives users more freedom to configure their assets and enrich asset information. Users can also set custom fields for specific asset types, translate values, and mark fields as required.

Section titled How translatable assets metadata differ from the basic metadata

Compared to the standard metadata fields, translatable metadata gives users the flexibility to translate fields and define asset fields that are specific to your company’s requirements. Not only can you add additional values, but also set up the requirements to make sure that all users fill in the data you need.

Improving SEO results by adding more information that search engines can crawl is another advantage of custom fields. The update also helps marketers and SEO specialists by populating asset values across different components, saving them time.

  • Business: 5
  • Enterprise: 10
  • Enterprise Plus: Unlimited
