Davida Cashmere is a high-quality cashmere brand. It carries the name of the founders’ great-grandmother Davida who lived by the aphorism “Simplicity is beautiful”, a saying that lives on within the brand. With the intention to deliver long-lasting cashmere pieces from generation to generation, Davida’s collections serve an authentic purpose to the conscious individual.
Cloud Nine, a Storyblok Certified Partner, built Davida’s new online store. The goal was to build a modern composable eCommerce solution with a special focus on a modular design system. Storyblok's intuitive interface and modular design system allow the editors at Davida to build sophisticated pages with a breeze. The new website was launched in October 2022 and saw a 55% increase in conversion rate. In addition, the new website experienced great improvements in search engine visibility. According to SISTRIX Visibility Index the new site ranks between 8-10x better. The new website also saw an increase in Average Order Value (AOV) of 38%, as well as to 52% increase in site speed.
The challenge of telling the story behind Davida's brand
The journey began in 2021 when Centra, a Storyblok Technology Partner, introduced Cloud Nine and Davida. Cloud Nine is a web and eCommerce agency with offices in Stockholm, Helsinki, and Gdansk. They are experts who design and develop digital services for some of the most famous and popular brands in the Nordic region. The agency has been in business for 20 years and employs developers with extensive experience in web development, eCommerce, and most importantly, headless, which is where they shine. The craftsmanship that is involved in the way they approach strategy, user experience, and functionality is what sets Cloud Nine apart. That exact approach was used to develop Davida Cashmere’s new website.

Davida wanted to be able to build with many languages and currencies. Before moving to the new technology stack, they had to have multiple sites to satisfy this need. Davida also wanted to deliver personalized experiences to their visitors where they could easily switch between offerings. They needed a solution that would allow them to easily manage their product inventory while having the freedom to express their creativity and tell the story behind the brand.
Davida, who were using Nordisk E-handel as their eCommerce platform, had difficulty telling the story behind the brand, the product, and the production. Davida’s content is planned and produced in-house. Therefore, their very content-driven team lacked the creative freedom to tell their story. In addition, Davida wanted to be able to build and update pages by themselves instead of having to hire or have a developer on-site to do so. Therefore, they wanted a user-friendly and flexible content management system that would work well with their eCommerce platform.
A modern composable eCommerce solution with Storyblok & Centra
The main goal for Davida’s new platform was to build a modern composable eCommerce solution with a special focus on a modular design system. Cloud Nine, who had until that point worked with solutions like Umbarco, Contentful, and Prismic were now introduced to Storyblok by Centra, who had witnessed the execution of very successful projects with the combination of the two technologies.

Content modeling capabilities: Storyblok’s modeling capabilities allow for a well-organized and easy-to-use system for Davida.
Visual Editor: The ability of the Visual Editor to generate a live preview of any page, helps Davida’s editors to easily deliver a best-of-class user experience.
Field-type-level translation: This Storyblok feature helps save an extensive amount of time for the team at Davida as it allows for all the content to be managed in a single platform on a single site.
Transparent and affordable pricing: Storyblok’s pricing model offered a value for Davida that no competitor was able to match.
Today, Storyblok's intuitive interface and modular design system allow the editors at Davida to build sophisticated pages with a breeze. Cloud Nine built a custom Storyblok plugin that lets the editor pick products from their eCommerce solution Centra. That way, it's easy and convenient for the editor to create product blocks with dynamically loaded product content. Storyblok is also being utilized to manage content on Davida’s landing page, FAQ page, as well as all the pages that help tell the story about the brand, product, production, materials, etc.

The combination of Storyblok and Centra, in particular, allows for an easy and convenient way for editors to create product blocks with dynamically loaded product content. Cloud Nine built an integration that enables the process of visually showing data from Centra in Storyblok for the best user experience. Even though this was the first time Cloud Nine used the two technologies together, the project is, to this date, one of the most successful application.
