The Micheldever Group – protyre.co.uk project, built and developed with Storyblok, was the winner of the 2024 UK Digital Excellence Awards in the B2C Website of the Year category! The project is the first-ever headless architected project in the UK to feature Storyblok, commercetools, Algolia, Bynder, and Pimberly in a composable solution.

The annual event honors and rewards outstanding digital websites, marketing campaigns, and digital agencies delivering results and profitability. The awards have various categories that cover different aspects of digital excellence, such as creative thinking, inventive use of content, and pioneering tools and tech. The projects and candidates are judged by a panel of industry experts, who evaluate the entries based on the following criteria: objectives, strategy, execution, results, and innovation.
According to the contest's judges, Profound had a very well-thought-out strategy when developing the protyre.uk project, giving the company an outstanding user experience. They also improved pricing and overall digital services for customers and the brand. The judges also appreciated how these implementations strengthened the brand's online performance. Finally, Profond worked closely with other teams, such as SEO and customer service, to deliver impressive results to the project.

The Micheldever Group has been operating in the market for over 50 years. Today, they're one of the UK's largest tire wholesalers, distributors, and retailers. The company's previous website was hosted on an outdated infrastructure, and they realized they had to rethink their whole eCommerce strategy as they grew rapidly. Profound assisted them in updating and modernizing their consumer eCommerce experience and helped them keep up with the competition.
Their new flexible and headless architecture developed by Profound on Storyblok has achieved remarkable results. It reduced the website load time by 28.4% and boosted the overall conversion rate by 98%. This is how Storyblok helped them achieve their goals:
- Ease of use: The developers found Storyblok convenient to use because of its API structure. It allowed the team to choose their technology stack freely. Also, Storyblok's clear documentation helped them to integrate and use Storyblok.
