Content Locking

The Content Locking app locks a story as soon as someone starts editing it, which prevents two editors from overwriting each other. Only the editor holding the lock can save. The lock is released when that editor saves or leaves the story. Everyone else sees a notice in the Visual Editor naming the current editor.

Setup

Open Settings → Content Locking and enable Automatically unlock a Story after user inactivity. Set the inactivity period and the countdown duration in minutes, and optionally enable the automatic save that runs before the timeout.

When you also use the Autosave app, enable Keep the content locked after autosave in the same settings.
