What's On the Agenda?

Mainz is calling — and you don't want to miss it.

JoyConf 2026 is two days of sessions, workshops, and conversations united by one powerful idea: great content isn’t built by tools alone — it’s built by people who rely on systems to deliver their best work.

Here's everything you need to know before October 28–29.

Architecture has become a business issue, not just a technical one - it decides what a global brand can actually ship. For multi-brand, multi-country teams, the old replication model taxes everyone: developers rebuild the same components site by site, and marketers wait in line behind them. This session shows how global brands consolidated dozens of fragmented sites onto one Storyblok foundation, modeling content once, composing it per market, and layering AI to draft and localize at scale. Developers get a stable core and configurable layers, so they extend instead of rebuild. Marketers get self-service and faster launches in days, not months without breaking brand governance. You'll leave with a practical blueprint for turning content sprawl into a connected system that moves at local speed. Content confidence, everywhere you operate.

Keep it simple and don't repeat yourself are important mantras in coding. Can we apply this to content too?

At TomTom, we are running multiple web applications from one Storyblok space. And just like with a monorepo, a monospace comes with upsides and downsides.

In this session we will explain what advantages convinced us to go in this direction, but also honestly weigh the downsides.

Hey! This setup is not suitable for everyone, but our goal is simply to inspire you by showing you a different approach.

Every Storyblok space starts strong. Twelve components, clear naming, a confident team. Three years later, the same space often shows the strain: dozens of near-duplicate blocks, fields nobody remembers adding, components only one person understands. Nobody dares to delete anything.

This isn't a Storyblok problem. The platform does exactly what it should. The hard work sits with us. Composable doesn't remove structural complexity, it relocates it. What used to be hidden in template code is now visible in components, fields, and naming conventions. Visible to everyone. Editable by many. And without a real practice of ownership and maintenance, what gets visible eventually drifts.

That drift is becoming more expensive than it used to be. The next wave: agentic usage, MCP, content as context for AI, leans entirely on the shape of your space. Agents read structure literally. They surface every inconsistency editors used to work around. A messy space doesn't just slow down humans anymore; it becomes a ceiling on what AI can do with your content at all.

Keeping a space fit for years is not a checklist. It's a practice and one most teams underestimate, because it asks for things that don't sit comfortably in a sprint: long-term ownership, the discipline to refuse a new component, the courage to delete, the patience to audit. This talk is a practitioner's playbook for that practice, drawn from real enterprise projects: how to recognize fatigue early, how to diagnose its structural causes, and the routines healthy teams build to stay ahead. Component ownership, the component-vs-variant decision, regular space audits, linting inside the editorial experience, and migration hygiene.

The takeaway: a healthy space isn't a feature you buy or a tool you install. It's a discipline you commit to. And in the agent era, it's the foundation everything else stands on.

Teaching AI to Advise your Customers with MYPOSTER

At MYPOSTER, we built an AI advisor bot that doesn't just answer FAQs. It actively guides customers through choosing the right wall art product: format, material, size, and price. The bot pulls product knowledge from our Storyblok, combines it with live API data, and uses tool-calling to deliver localized, context-aware recommendations.

After it went live, and we quickly learned that passing evals and actually helping customers are two very different things.

This talk is the honest story of what broke and what we learned:

  • Why one customer question can have multiple "correct" answers — and why that destroys naive evaluations
  • How we use Storyblok content as a RAG knowledge base alongside structured product APIs, and the challenges of keeping both in sync
  • The real cost of quality: reading 100 production traces by hand takes a full engineering day, and you can't skip it
  • Why annotations are observations, not fixes — and the research gap between seeing a bug and knowing which line to change
  • How we built an eval loop from error analysis through to CI-blocking regression tests

MYPOSTER is part of a group of companies that are going AI-first with Storyblok, building custom integrations that treat CMS content not just as pages to render, but as structured knowledge for AI agents to reason over. We'll share the patterns that worked — and the ones that looked good on paper but failed in production.

Search is no longer just about ranking on Google. It’s about being summarized and trusted by AI-driven search engines. As AI reshape how users discover information, marketers need to rethink how content is structured and optimized.

In this session, we’ll explore how SEO and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) work together to shape modern content strategy. We’ll break down what makes content “AI-readable,” how to design for both search engines and generative systems, and how to future-proof your content against rapidly evolving discovery patterns.

You’ll walk away with practical frameworks for:

  • Creating content that performs in both traditional search and AI-generated results
  • Structuring content for clarity, authority, and machine understanding
  • Identifying what to optimize, and what to stop doing, in an AI-first landscape

Whether you’re rebuilding your content foundation or scaling with AI, this session will help you create content that gets found, trusted, and used.

Content Confidence in Every Language: Sounding Local Everywhere, Without the Trade-Off with Lokalise

We've all heard that the web's front door has moved from search results to AI answers. But here's the harder question for any marketer going global: when a customer asks an AI engine about your brand in their own language, do you show up, and do you sound like you actually belong there?

For years, localization forced an ugly choice: fast and cheap machine translation that sounds like a robot, or slow, expensive human work that blows your launch window and your budget. This session is about ending that trade-off. I'll show how grounding AI in your real brand voice, scoring quality automatically, and routing only the genuinely tricky segments to human reviewers means you spend expert time and budget only where it actually changes the outcome. The result is content you can trust in markets you can't even read, at a fraction of the cost, because the quality process got smarter rather than just cheaper and worse.

Dominik Angerer is the CEO and co-founder of Storyblok. Guest Keynote Speaker

Dame Dr. Maggie Aderin is a scientist and broadcaster referred to as the BBC’s ‘face of space’. She is the presenter of the astronomical institution The Sky at Night, has fronted a number of space documentaries, and regularly appears on science and non-science programmes.

From a modest background and diagnosed with dyslexia, Maggie overcame the naysayers to study at Imperial College where she obtained her degree in Physics and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. After her studies, she toured the UK speaking to inner-city schools about what scientists do, why they do it, and how to be one with the aim of inspiring the next generation of physicists.

Since then, she has spent her career making novel, bespoke instrumentation in both the industrial and academic environments. These instruments have ranged from hand-held land mine detectors to an optical subsystem for the James Webb Space Telescope (the replacement for the Hubble space telescope). She has worked for the MoD on missile warning systems, and for aerospace giant EADS on a range of projects to monitor the earth’s atmosphere.

Maggie is a research fellow and an Honorary Research Associate at University College London, and continues to work to engage the public with science. She augments her ‘Tours of the Universe’ presentations to young and old with regular TV and radio appearances. As well as fronting The Sky at Night, Maggie has appeared in programmes including Stargazing Live, The Science of Doctor Who, and In Orbit: How Satellites Rule Our World.

Maggie has said the achievements of Neil Armstrong landing on the moon captured her imagination and drive to "get out there into space". In turn she has engaged school children around the world. She credits her deep passion for science as the tool that allowed her to break through social mobility barriers.

Maggie also tackles science education and public understanding, and women in science and engineering. She received an MBE for services to science and science education. Maggie is an engaging and passionate speaker. Her enthusiasm for science and learning is infectious.

  • Staying connected

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the venue. The network name and password will be displayed at the registration desk and on signage around the venue.

  • Need help on the day?

The JoyConf team will be easy to spot in branded t-shirts and orange lanyards, and we are happy to help with whatever you need.
