# Technical Requirements

As a headless CMS, Storyblok stores your content and assets and delivers them over an API. It doesn’t render or host your website. The frontend that turns that content into pages is your own application, deployed to a hosting provider of your choice.

## What Storyblok hosts

Storyblok handles the parts of the stack that manage, store, and deliver content:

-   The editing interface at `app.storyblok.com`, including the Visual Editor.
-   The content, served through the [Content Delivery API](/docs/api/content-delivery/v2) and cached on a global CDN.
-   The [assets](/docs/concepts/assets), served from the asset CDN and transformed on demand using the [Image Service](/docs/api/image-service).

## What you host

Your frontend is an application that you build, deploy, and run:

-   The code that fetches content from the Content Delivery API and renders it.
-   The domain your visitors use.
-   The preview deployment that the [Visual Editor](/docs/concepts/visual-editor) loads.

The traffic between your frontend and Storyblok counts toward your plan’s quota.

## Supported hosting providers and frameworks

Storyblok can work with any hosting provider—choose the one that meets your needs and supports your stack. To get started with Vercel or Netlify, use one of the [Blueprints](/docs/concepts/blueprints).

## Browser support

Storyblok provides the application as a subscription-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) that runs in modern web browsers, so it requires no installation or maintenance.

Storyblok supports the two most recent versions of the following browsers:

-   Google Chrome
-   Mozilla Firefox
-   Apple Safari
-   Microsoft Edge
-   Brave

Disable ad and content blockers for `https://app.storyblok.com`.

## API compatibility

Any modern system or technology that makes HTTP requests and processes data can consume Storyblok’s APIs. Storyblok provides [clients and SDKs](/docs/libraries) for a range of technologies.

Storyblok rolls out updates continuously, including new features, improvements, and bug fixes, with a strong focus on backward compatibility and stability. Storyblok announces major changes in advance, and releases breaking changes in new major API versions.
