# Smartling

The Smartling app connects a Storyblok space to [Smartling](https://www.smartling.com/) and requests translation jobs from inside Storyblok. Translated content is imported asynchronously, so the job continues while you work.

## Features

-   Request a translation job for a folder.
-   Name each job.
-   Select the target language and the content to translate.
-   Assign a workflow stage to the imported translation.

## Setup

1.  Create a Smartling account and install the Smartling tool plugin in Storyblok.
2.  Generate a [project token](https://help.smartling.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004187694) in Smartling.
3.  In the app settings, enter the user identifier, the token secret, and the project ID.

## Requesting a translation

1.  Write the stories in the default language and mark the translatable fields.
2.  Duplicate the stories for the target languages.
3.  Open the Smartling tool plugin and enter the job name, the target language, the content to translate, and the workflow stage.
4.  Select **Request Translation**.

The import runs asynchronously, so the translated content appears once the job finishes.
