# Access Token Scopes

The Access Token Scopes app narrows what a delivery [access token](/docs/concepts/access-tokens) can read, down to individual folders or content items. Use it to serve a protected area of a site, where the token issued to a signed-in visitor reaches only the content they’re entitled to.
